Interlude: Marscape or Barsoom Scene

Con la cosa esta del INKTOBER estamos dejándonos en el tintero algunas ilustraciones ya terminadas, así que aprovecharemos para intercalarlas entre tanto dibujo a tinta monocromático...

La que ilustra la entrada de hoy es un homenaje al héroe pulp John Carter de Barsoom - es decir, de Marte, para entendernos -, obra de Edgar R. Burroughs (también creador del afamado Tarzán, señor de la selva). Junto a él, el espécimen de thark, nativo de Marte, conocido como Tars Tarkas. La conversación que mantienen transcurre en alguna sala del palacio de Dejah Thoris, princesa homónima de la primera novela de la serie, A Princess of Mars, de 1917.

llustration of today is a hommage to the pulp hero John Carter of Barsoom - I mean Mars, you know -, created by Edgar R. Burroughs, also creator of the famous Tarzan of the apes. The character near him is the thark known as Tars Tarkas; the conversation takes place in some hall of the palace of princess Dejah Thoris, homonymous of the first novel of the Barsoom series, A Princess of Mars (1917).

Ea, pues en Expanded Coyote hemos decidido participar en el proyecto INKTOBER 2014, entre otras razones, porque nos encanta la sensación de la tinta que fluye del rotring/pluma/pincel deslizándose sobre el papel... Es una sensación que no puede reproducirse con la tableta gráfica... Otra de las razones - o excusas - podría ser el beneficio de la auto-impuesta disciplina de realizar un dibujo diario... ¡como si no dibujásemos diariamente!

Eso sí, una marca de la casa es la connatural tendencia al desorden, la falta de perseverancia, y una irritante tendencia a dejar para el último momento las entregas con fecha... Esperemos que ello no se interponga en demasía al objetivo prefijado...
